![]() The violence is a lot more realistic and the would be priest Aramis (Romain Duris) isn't above using a sharpened crucifix as a torture instrument to obtain information. Great fight scenes in forests, within Cathedrals, Abbeys and even at a wedding which makes The Bride's wedding in Kill Bill seem like a quiet affair, Not a buckle is left unswashed. So are the inhabitants, many, even the well off could do with a wash, the film realistically portrays Paris in springtime 1627. While D'Artagnan (François Civil) could be forgiven for being dirty seeing as he was buried alive after a skirmish in the opening scenes, Paris itself is dirty and dusty. ![]() ![]() The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan: This is a dark and gritty take on the Dumas novel which improves on the original plot by taking the scheming and conspiracies to an even higher level. ![]()
